The BBS steam tank is a pressure vessel which serves to facilitate the accumulation of generated steam.
The steam tanks are used in steam systems with discontinuous steam consumption. With low steam consumption in the system, steam produced by the steam generator is stored. In the event of higher consumption, the stored steam is transferred to the system.
Thus, with the aid of the steam tank, optimisation of the steam generator capacity is achieved. This has a positive effect on the investment costs.
Furthermore, the use of a steam tank facilitates balanced, nominal value operation of the steam boiler system, which results in an optimised level of effectiveness and thus a reduction in operating costs.
